James M. Lindsay
James M. Lindsay is a founding shareholder of the firm. Mr. Lindsay was born February 15, 1968 in Manteca, California, and graduated from Manteca High School in 1986. He was Salutatorian of his high school class and was also named Valley Oak League Most Valuable Player in baseball in 1985. Mr. Lindsay attended California State University at Fresno and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics in 1989. Mr. Lindsay received a scholarship to attend Tulane University School of Law. He was the youngest member of his law school class and graduated in 1992.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Lindsay began working for the National Security Agency as an analyst and linguist. He has traveled and worked extensively throughout Eastern Europe. He is fluent in Russian and functional in Ukranian and Serbo-Croatian as well. He supported NATO operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mr. Lindsay began his career in private practice at the law firm Mayall, Hurley, Knutsen, Smith & Green in Stockton, California, well-known for its high level and effective insurance coverage and defense practice. While at Mayall, he practiced in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage and complex civil litigation. Mr. Lindsay later joined the Law Office of Joseph Michael Sette in Dublin, California, a firm which almost exclusively engaged in insurance defense. Mr. Lindsay had worked previously with Mr. Sette at the Mayall firm. Within his first three years of practice, Mr. Lindsay had successfully tried several cases and was peer reviewed and rated through Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Lindsay subsequently moved to Modesto, California, and worked at the prestigious law firm Damrell, Nelson, Schrimp, Pallios, Pacher & Silva, where he handled complex civil litigation matters and started a successful family law practice. Mr. Lindsay left the Damrell firm with Mr. Stonebarger at the end of 2003 and formed Lindsay & Stonebarger.
Mr. Lindsay has successfully handled and tried numerous actions throughout the state of California. He has also handled several state and federal matters before various administrative agencies including the Department of Defense, Immigration & Naturalization Service and the Department of Consumer Affairs. Mr. Lindsay is licensed to practice before all courts in the state of California and several federal courts.
Mr. Lindsay was a Judge Pro Tem in San Joaquin County from 1998 through 2002. |
